Community Grants Awarded

As part of our Australia Day Celebrations, certificates were presented to the representatives of the various community groups that were successful in receiving Community Grant Funding from Council for 2023/24 Financial Year. Successful applicants have shared in $16,830 in community funding this financial year. In addition to this funding, the Myponga Memorial Community Centre was granted $25,000, the Yankalilla Memorial Park was also granted $25,000 and $15,000 was granted to the Arts and Creativity Grants Program.

This Annual Program provides incredible value across the community and the next round of Community Grant Applications will open again later in the year for the 2025/26 Financial Year. Successful Grant Winners were:

5CY - $2,500 for the Community Pantry

Fleurieu Lesbians Enjoying Song for Community & Health (FLESCH) - $1,425 for music sessions

Friends of Bungala River - $1,100 towards the estuary re-vegetation project

Greater Southern Table Tennis Association – Western Fleurieu Branch - $2,500 towards competition standard table tennis equipment

Myponga Netball Club - $1,000 for 90th anniversary match day netballs

Normanville Tennis Club - $250 for home game – fundraising equipment

Reclink Australia - $2,500 towards activities for youth at risk

Yankalilla Ecumenical Events Committee - $270 towards the 2023 Community Carols

Yankalilla & District Interchurch Council - $1,200 for the Yankalilla Area School & Myponga Primary School Breakfast Club

Yankalilla District Historical Museum Inc - $1,111 towards a new theatrette - audio-visual equipment

Yankalilla Football Club - $2,392.50 for Junior team guernseys

Yankalilla Hockey Club - $262.50 for Junior playing shirts

Yankalilla, Rapid Bay & Myponga Agricultural & Horticultural Society - $319 towards upgraded pavilion lighting
