Do Business Fleurieu Coast is an initiative of the District Council of Yankalilla that aims to connect businesses to each other and to Council, to share opportunities and ideas that boost the way we do business, to build business capacity and support innovation.

Southern Business Mentoring Program

The SBMP offers one-on-one advisory sessions for businesses and start-ups operating within the District Council of Yankalilla. Launching on 1 January 2021, this program is FREE until 30 June 2021.

Visiting Specialists

The Visiting Specialist program provides Fleurieu Coast-based businesses with access to free, confidential and one-on-one appointments with industry experts. Each expert will be in at the Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre, or available online, one day per month.

Peter offers tourism information and industry advice, drawing on a long history in the tourism industry, initially in the cultural tourism sector managing the museums of the History Trust of SA, then in a range of roles with South Australian Tourism Commission.

Steve can also help you navigate the Hills & Coast Grant Finder, an online search engine offering a one-stop-shop to help you find grants and tips to maximise your chances of success.

COVID-19 Business Assistance

Discretionary Rate Rebate

Local business are encouraged to apply for a discretionary rebate where they can show they have experienced a greater than 40% downturn in turnover, for any consecutive 3 month period during the COVID-19 pandemic, compared with the same period the previous year.

All requests must be submitted on the COVID-19 Discretionary Rate Rebate application form.

Share your ideas for better business

Council is actively looking at ways we can support our local economy. We welcome business and industry representatives to share project ideas that will assist with dealing with COVID-19 restrictions.  Please use the Better Business form to help us assess your proposal and consider a budget allocation from the COVID-19 Business Assistance funds.
