How to register your pet
Dogs and Cats Online (DACO) is the statewide database for all dog and cat registrations in South Australia.
All dogs and cats must be registered once they reach three months of age and registrations are required to be renewed annually between 1 July and 31 August. Any payment after 31 August will incur a late payment fee. The annual registration is valid to 30 June.
To register a new dog or cat you can log into DACO and provide the details. If you have never owned a dog before you will need to create an account. Please see www.dogsandcatsonline.com.au and follow the prompts.

Council Requirements
Number of Dogs & Cats per Property
Council's By-Law No 5 - Dogs, limits the number of dogs kept on premises and manages and controls dogs in the Council area.
Council's By-Law No 7 - Owning more than two cats will require permission from Council and cats are not permitted to 'wander at large' within the District. This control will reduce nuisance and aligns with the control applied to dogs.
