Once you have received your confirmation from the Department of Home Affairs approving your Australian Citizenship, your local or nominated Council will be contacted by the Department to make arrangements for the presentation of your Citizenship Certificate.
The District Council of Yankalilla holds Citizenship Ceremonies twice a year for approved applicants residing in the Council area:
- Australia Day (26 January)
- National Citizenship Day (17 September)
The Australian Citizenship Ceremony is a formal occasion lasting approximately 15 minutes, depending on the number of conferees. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.
During the ceremony you will make the Australian Citizenship Pledge and receive your official Australian Citizenship Certificate.
