When you have received your confirmation from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection approving your Australian Citizenship, your local or nominated Council will be contacted by the Department to make arrangements for the presentation of your Citizenship Certificate.

District Council of Yankalilla conducts conferral ceremonies for approved Australian Citizenship applicants residing in the Council area twice a year on National Citizenship Day 17 September and on Australia Day 26 January.

The Australian Citizenship Ceremony is a formal occasion of approximately 15 minutes, depending on the number of conferees.

Citizenship conferees are invited to attend together with friends and family.

During the ceremony you will be asked to make the Australian Citizenship Pledge and be presented with your Australian Citizenship Certificate.

Council will hold ceremonies at other times during the year upon request.
