Vale Leonie Houston
It is with great sadness that we share the tragic passing of Leonie Houston on 14 September 2026. Leonie was the soulmate and wife of Mayor Darryl Houston and a much-loved member of the Myponga community who brought joy to all who knew her.
Leonie was incredibly active in the local community, holding the Editor role for the Myponga Mudlark, Secretary role for the Myponga Progress Association and Hall Committee, Barista for the Myponga Coffee Group and Organiser of the Myponga Women’s Group.
As the Mayor has stated, Leonie was the love of his life, together for 39 years, married for 36 and beloved mother to 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all as a truly good person who put family and community first.
