Road Conditions Update

Recent heavy rainfall across the district has significantly impacted the condition of many local roads. With further rainfall forecast, conditions are expected to continue changing in the coming days.

The District Council of Yankalilla acknowledges that road conditions are a concern for many residents. Our teams are currently out inspecting roads and undertaking repairs, with priority given to safety-related issues.

With 543 kilometres of roads under Council care, maintaining the network is a significant ongoing task. Wet weather also makes repair work more challenging and some temporary repairs may deteriorate further until conditions improve and more permanent works can be completed.

Council continues to monitor road conditions closely and respond as quickly as possible to identified issues.

The community are encouraged to take extra care when travelling, particularly during wet weather and to drive to the conditions.

Council thanks the community for their patience and for reporting road issues. These reports assist in identifying and prioritising repairs across the district.
