New 3-bin and kitchen caddy starter pack available
Residents setting up bins at a new home can now purchase a new 3-bin and kitchen caddy starter pack from Fleurieu Regional Waste Authority (FRWA).
The starter pack is designed for residents in townships with green FOGO bin collections and provides the three kerbside bins needed for general waste, recycling and food organics and garden organics (FOGO).
The pack includes:
- a 240-litre lime green-lidded FOGO bin at half price
- a 140-litre red-lidded landfill bin
- a 240-litre yellow-lidded recycling bin
- a free kitchen caddy.
The complete pack costs $198.50 and is valued at $247.
The packs are available for purchase from FRWA depots. A delivery service is also available across the Fleurieu Mainland for an additional fee. Residents can contact FRWA Customer Service on 8555 2467, Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm, to arrange and pay for delivery.
Give FOGO a Go’GO
Using your green FOGO bin for food scraps, along with garden organics, helps divert organic material from landfill so it can be turned into compost and soil. Material collected through the FOGO service is processed locally by Peats Soil & Garden Supplies at Brinkley.
Residents are also encouraged to clearly mark their bins with their property number and street name to help discourage bin theft.
For more information about the starter pack, including what can go in your FOGO bin, visit the FRWA website.
