Make sure you’re ready for the 2027 Council Elections

The 2027 Council Elections are your opportunity to have a say in decisions that help shape our district.

Council decisions influence the places and services we use every day, from local roads and walking trails to community facilities, recreation spaces, events and environmental initiatives.

While voting may still feel a little way off, now is the time to make sure you’re enrolled and your details are up to date.

Are you enrolled?

If you’re on the South Australian electoral roll, you’re entitled to participate in your council elections.

It’s still a good idea to check that your details are correct, particularly if you’ve moved house, changed your name, recently turned 18 or your circumstances have changed.

Council elections are conducted by post, so having the correct enrolment details is important.

Own property in the district?

Council elections are not just for people who live in the council area.

You may also be able to enrol if you own a property, run a business, or represent an organisation in the area. Depending on your circumstances, this could mean you’re eligible to vote in more than one council area.

Eligible property owners may be able to enrol on Council’s supplementary voters roll. This is not automatic, so you will need to apply to enrol.

Already on the Supplementary Roll?

If you’ve previously registered on the Supplementary Roll, you may not need to enrol again.

People who have registered on the Supplementary Roll since 1 January 2026 will not be purged from the roll on 1 January 2027.

It’s still a good idea to check that your enrolment and details are current.

If you’re not already on the Supplementary Roll, check the eligibility requirements to find out whether you’re eligible and how to enrol.
