The District Council of Yankalilla is inviting community feedback on a proposal to revoke the Community Land classification of the Council-owned reserve at 2 Hobart Road (corner Williss Drive), Normanville.

Revoking the Community Land classification is a legislated process under the Local Government Act 1999. It must occur before Council can consider any future options for the site.

What is being proposed?

Council is progressing a proposal to revoke the Community Land classification of the reserve at 2 Hobart Road, Normanville.

The land is currently classified as Community Land and cannot be disposed of unless the revocation process is completed and approved.

Why is consultation being undertaken?

Before Council can consider any future options for the site, including a potential sale and reinvestment for community benefit, the Community Land classification must first be formally revoked through a legislated process.

This process includes:

  • preparing a revocation report
  • undertaking public consultation
  • considering all submissions received

If Council decides to proceed following consultation, the proposal must also be approved by the Minister for Local Government.

Have your say

We invite you to review the Community Land Revocation Report and share your views.

This is your opportunity to tell us:

  • what considerations Council should weigh up in making its decision
