Flinders to Fleurieu Rally Road Closure Consultation
The organisers of the Flinders to Fleurieu Rally would like to thank the community for its support and cooperation as they prepare to bring one of the largest gravel rally events in the Southern Hemisphere to regional South Australia.
As part of the rally route on Friday 25 September 2026, several local roads and partial road sections within the Yankalilla area will be temporarily affected by controlled road closures to ensure the safety of competitors, officials, volunteers, spectators and residents.
The roads and partial road sections affected include: James Track, Kemmiss Hill Road, Sampson Road, Wattle Flat Road, Smith Hill Road, Jervois Road, Taverner Road, Mount Robinson Road, Tapanappa Road, Tunkalilla Road and Tunk Head Road.
Wherever possible, residents located along the affected roads have been personally visited by the Flinders to Fleurieu Rally team. Team members have spoken directly with residents who were home at the time, and information letters have been left at properties where residents were unavailable during visits.
The organisers understand that road closures and increased activity may create inconvenience for some residents and sincerely appreciate the community’s patience and understanding. The event team is committed to working closely with the community to minimise disruption and ensure residents remain informed throughout the planning process.
The Flinders to Fleurieu Rally is designed to deliver a world-class event and to support regional communities, tourism and local businesses. Local businesses, community groups and residents are encouraged to become involved and help showcase the Yankalilla region to competitors and visitors from across Australia and overseas.
As part of the community activities, classic rally vehicles will be on public display on Friday 25 September at:
- Myponga Memorial Community Centre Oval
- Yankalilla Showgrounds
Community participation is encouraged and residents are welcome to:
- Learn more about the event
- Discuss access arrangements
- Become involved as a volunteer or community supporter
- Promote a local business or community group
