Rating Review - Rebalancing our Rating System
Council is reviewing its current rating structure and has developed a proposal that rebalances how rates are distributed across different property types, helping ensure a fair and fit-for-purpose system for the future.
This review is not about increasing overall revenue - it’s about whether the current rating structure still reflects community expectations, is fair and supports long-term financial sustainability.
Starting now: Phase 1 - the community is invited to learn how the rating system works and how rates are calculated.
Coming next: Phase 2 - this is where you’ll have the opportunity to provide direct feedback for Council’s elected members to receive and consider before any final decision making.
