Important Update: Cape Jervis Boat Ramp Closures

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) has informed Council about temporary closures of the Cape Jervis boat ramp as part of the Cape Jervis Port upgrade works.

Key Details:

  • From Friday 17 January to mid March 2025, the Cape Jervis boat ramp will be closed nightly between 7pm and 6am to allow for safe night works in the harbour.
  • Daytime closures may also be required in the first half of 2025 to facilitate further works for the new, larger ferries and the ongoing port upgrade.
  • The boat ramp will reopen to all users for the Australia Day long weekend.
  • During closures, Cape Jervis boat ramp facility users will be able to launch and retrieve vessels from the Wirrina Cove Marina at no cost.

These critical works, led by DIT, are part of broader improvements to the Cape Jervis and Penneshaw ports to enhance safety and efficiency for ferry services and harbour users.
