Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition: Unleash Your Creativity!
Are you a budding artist under the age of 18? Would you like to see your artwork featured on the Mayor’s official Christmas Card for 2024? The Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition is your chance to showcase your talent and spread some holiday cheer across the District Council of Yankalilla!
What’s the Competition About?
Mayor Houston is inviting young artists to design a festive Christmas card that will be used as his official card for 2024. Whether you’re a fan of drawing, painting, or mixed media, you can use any creative technique you like—just be sure to use the official template provided.
How to Enter:
- Download the Template: You can download the official template here or pick up a hard copy from the Yankalilla Library.
- Create Your Masterpiece: Let your creativity shine using any media you prefer, whether it’s crayons, watercolours or digital art.
- Submit Your Entry: Once your artwork is complete, submit it to the Yankalilla Library by 31 August, 2024. Remember, all entries must be submitted on the official template.
What Happens Next?
After the competition closes, Mayor Houston will personally review all the entries and choose the design that will be featured on his official 2024 Christmas Card.
To get the competition off to a great start, the Yankalilla Library hosted a special colouring session during the recent school holidays. This event provided a fun and creative space for local children to begin working on their designs. We’ve already received some outstanding entries, which are now on display at the Yankalilla Library. If you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and admire the creativity of our young artists (with personal details removed, of course).
