Second Valley Jetty Temporary Closure
Due to a powerful combination of high waves, strong winds and storm surges, a portion of the heritage listed causeway structures has unfortunately collapsed. This collapse poses a significant risk to public safety.
In order to prioritise the safety and well-being of the public, we have made the decision to temporarily close the jetty. This proactive measure allows us to address the situation promptly and work closely with the Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) and Department of Environment and Water (DEW) to assess the most suitable and effective repairs.
Rest assured, our primary concern is public safety and we are taking all necessary steps to ensure that appropriate actions are being taken. We understand the importance of the Second Valley Jetty to the community and are committed to restoring access to it as soon as possible.
