Greater Adelaide Regional Plan Discussion Paper
The State Planning Commission has released the Discussion Paper for the Greater Adelaide Regional Plan (GARP), of which Yankalilla is a part. The GARP replaces the 30-Year Plan for Greater Adelaide and identifies housing and employment growth areas along in a long-term planning vision. Discussion points raised include the following:
- where new housing and employment lands should be developed,
- how these homes should be serviced,
- how the State preserves its environmental assets,
- what major infrastructure will be required for future generations, and,
- how the State tackles the inevitable challenges of climate change, public space, and amenity whilst balancing pressures including affordability as the population grows.
Consultation on the Discussion Paper is open until 06 November 2023. Yankalilla Council will be providing feedback on the Discussion Paper, however, to read the paper and have your say as an individual, please visit https://plan.sa.gov.au/regional-planning-program
