Elected Member Forum
An Elected Member Forum will be held on Tuesday 1 August 2023, at 3pm. Please note that this Forum will be held in the Council Chambers (1 Charles Street, Yankalilla).
Members of the public are welcome to attend for the discussion on the topics of Township Sealing Update and Elected Member Information Request Policy.
Discussion on the third topic (BIG4 Normanville Jetty Holiday Park Management Options) will be held in confidence. The information to be discussed is commercial information (including the presentation of financial models) and of a confidential nature. The public release of the information at this time could prejudice the commercial position of Council if Council decides to approach the market for lease. Please note that the Elected Member Forum is an information-sharing activity and not for decision-making.
At the May Elected Member Forum, Councillors were presented with all legal and viable management options for the BIG4 Normanville Jetty Holiday Park. It was best practice to present all options for consideration and this allowed the sale of the Holiday Park to be immediately dismissed by the Elected Members. This outcome demonstrated that Council is in tune with the known community sentiment on the value of the Park.
Innoviv (industry experts) have since been engaged to analyse various management models (not including Sale as that option is not being explored), they will present their analysis at the Forum for the broad understanding and consideration of the Elected Members. It is reconfirmed that Sale of the Holiday Park has not been considered by Innoviv and will not be put forward as a recommendation.
