Elected Member Forum
Elected Member Forums are an important part of Council decision-making processes. They provide a chance for Council Members to become informed on issues and seek clarification before making decisions at formally constituted Council Meeting.
These forums are held once a month on the first Tuesday of the month, starting at 3:00 pm and may be held in various locations as determined by the CEO. The meetings are open to the public, but in some cases, certain items may be discussed in confidence and closing the meeting to the public will be necessary.
If you have important information or a relevant presentation to share with Council Members, you may be able to present at the Elected Member Forum. However, you will need to submit a request in writing to the Principle Office of Council, addressed to the Mayor, outlining the topic of your presentation. Please note that only one presentation per meeting will generally be allowed, and it must be agreed upon by the Mayor.
It’s important to note that Elected Member Forums are not formal Council Meetings, and therefore no decisions can be made at these meetings. However, they do provide a valuable opportunity for Council Members to gather information and better understand the issues facing our community.
