Businesses come together at local Networking Evening
The Economic Development, Tourism and Agribusiness team at Council extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful local business operators who joined us at the Business Networking & Support Services event on Tuesday, June 13th, at Club Fleurieu.
The objectives of the evening were: to raise awareness about the diverse range of support services available to our local businesses, foster connections within our vibrant business community and provide a casual Networking opportunity for operators.
Mayor Darryl Houston joined the 25+ local operators who heard from representatives of the Southern Business Mentoring Program, Rural Business Support and Regional Development Australia who provided valuable insights into the services available.
The evening commenced at 5:30pm, with Lisa Pearson (Group Manager Economy, Tourism & Community) warmly welcoming the attendees and guest speakers. She also took a moment to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which the event took place.
Presentations concluded around 7pm, with Lisa Pearson summarising the key services available and introducing members of Council's Economic Development, Tourism and Agribusiness team who were present: Amy Williams (Economic Engagement & Agribusiness); Darren Burgess (Team Leader Tourism & Visitor Services) and Leanne Jones (Economic Development Support).
The networking portion of the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all, with many expressing their gratitude to Council staff for organising such a valuable event. We were thrilled to hear your positive feedback and your enthusiasm to participate in future gatherings.
Here are a few of the encouraging comments we received:
“Well done! Great initiative.”
“Thank you!”

“Thank you for arranging the Networking meeting. It was of value to me and is an excellent initiative.”
Thanks to Louise Allstrom and the team at Club Fleurieu for providing the excellent venue and catering for the evening.
