Uluru - Statement of the Heart

The Uluru Statement is an invitation from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to “walk with us in a movement of the Australian people for a better future”. It calls for structural reforms including constitutional change to establish a Voice to Parliament enshrined in the Constitution. A Voice to Parliament provides the foundation for better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
On Wednesday 27 July, approximately 200 people attended a Forum in Victor Harbor to hear signatories of the Uluru Statement speak about their experiences in forming and developing the Statement.
Representatives from across the Fleurieu and beyond came together to celebrate the achievements of the Uluru Statement journey to date and inspire actions going forward.
