Uluru Statement of the Heart Forum
The Community Forum is being organised by a sub-committee of the Fleurieu Aboriginal and Community Initiatives Network (FACIN). FACIN is a community led network that aims to plan, support and implement initiatives that cultivate a culture of holistic wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and Communities. It consists of representatives of service providers, local schools and kindergartens, childcare centres and interested community members etc. The three councils, City of Victor Harbor, Yankalilla and Alexandrina Councils are also represented on FACIN. Fleurieu Families has provided FACIN with administrative support since its inception in 2013.
MIPAAC is a local Ramindjeri Ngarrindjeri representative organisation who work with the local community to provide cultural education opportunities including Ngarrindjeri language classes. As a reference group they are interested in supporting community engagement opportunities and with the support of Councils are responsible for the local events such as NAIDOC.
The South Coast Community Forum is being held on Wednesday 27th July 2022 6-8pm at the Encounter Lutheran College Gym “Kondoli”, Victor Harbor.
