Seeking Nominations for the New Yankalilla Agricultural Advisory Network
This is an exciting time for Agriculture in both the Yankalilla District and Fleurieu Region with Yankalilla Council having the commitment to assist Agricultural Businesses in the Region through the appointment of an Agribusiness Development Officer.
The express purpose of this role is supporting the Yankalilla district’s continued agricultural evolution, underpinned by the principles and practices of resilient farming and supported by knowledge-intensive agricultural inputs, processes and support services, to build the district’s profile as a leader in smart and innovative food production and agribusiness.
As part of this commitment to Agriculture is the desire to introduce a new advisory group to be formed under the guidance of the District Council of Yankalilla – Yankalilla Agricultural Advisory Network.
This new group is not designed to take over from your current Working Group in any way, but a group to discuss ‘All Things’ Ag. and support your group with various issues, projects, funding opportunities, dissemination of information, etc.
A few of the subjects that are already on the agenda are:
- Agriculture Survey
- Water Security
- Business Support
- Regenerative Ag Strategy
- Employment in Agriculture
- Ag Tech
- Climate Change
We are looking for 1 or 2 members from each of the working groups, who farm in the Yankalilla Council area, to join this group.
