The Landscape Priority Funded Our Plover Coast Project has completed the first year of targeted control of Sea Wheat Grass, Marram Grass, Pyp Grass and Sea Spurge in areas that Hooded Plovers are known to nest. Revegetation with Spinifex and associated local native dune plants has been completed at sites across the Fleurieu Peninsula using plants grown by volunteers at the Fleurieu Coast Community Nursery.

At Carrickalinga near the Rotunda the annual National Tree Day event in partnership with the Fleurieu Environment Centre was held as part of the Our Plover Coast project. Volunteers from the community and the Fleurieu Environment Centre planted over 1,500 local native sand dune seedlings on Sunday the 31st of July to improve the nesting and chick raising habitat for Hooded Plovers at this location.
