Normy Summer Beach Fest 2022

On 17 January the District Council of Yankalilla hosted the annual ‘Normy Summer Beachfest’, in partnership with the Normanville Surf Life Saving Club

A great day was had by all! Beachgoers were able to engage with the giant games which were available on the foreshore and beach, participate in the ongoing matches of Beach Volleyball and Beach Cricket or enjoy delicious food provided by the Rotary Club of Yankalilla and the Normanville Surf Life Saving Club.

Thanks to the generosity of Paul and Linda Burrow, children were able to craft their own magnetic toy, which provided much joy to the young and young at heart.

The Uniting Church were also onsite with their ‘Sunscreen and Sippers’ service, providing the public with access to sun cream, shade and icy poles on the beach. This volunteer run service has been running during Vacswim for approximately 15 years!

We were fortunate enough to provide the opportunity for over 34 people to participate in Stand-up paddle boarding sessions facilitated by Reclink SA and offer some fun active competitions thanks to the support from volunteers and the Normanville Surf Lifesaving Club.

Thank you to everyone who helped make it a success. A special shout out to our volunteers who tirelessly cleaned equipment all day to ensure the event was COVID safe and to Jack McArdle for the photography.
