CEO Appointed for the District Council of Yankalilla
The District Council of Yankalilla is thrilled to announce that Nathan Cunningham has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the District Council of Yankalilla.
District Council of Yankalilla Mayor Simon Rothwell said Mr. Cunningham is an experienced Local Government executive leader known for delivering strategic projects whilst delivering great outcomes for the communities that he has served.
“Mr. Cunningham has a vast experience across a range of Councils, most recently holding the role of Director - Community and Planning at the City of Prospect for 8 years where he managed the major project delivery of the $20M Payinthi Community Hub, Library and Civic Centre on Prospect Road.
Another great alignment for us is that Mr. Cunningham has experience working with regional communities having previously held the position of General Manager - Strategy, Projects & Engineering at Light Regional Council for 7 years."
Mr. Cunningham said he is excited to join the team and lead the District Council of Yankalilla into the next phase of its journey toward achieving its strategic direction.
“Yankalilla is the kind of special place which I revel in and I will cherish being able to play a key role in shaping a great and prosperous future. I enjoy connecting with and working for regional communities and I thank the Elected Members for entrusting me to lead and deliver.
There is a lot happening in the district and that’s what attracted me to the role. I bring vast experience and relevant skills to develop and sustain positive momentum on the current major projects whilst bringing a ‘values-led’ approach to strategic leadership, and strong governance skills.
I also look forward to the opportunity to lead a new group of staff who I understand to be really keen, focused, and committed. I am excited about being able to harness that energy to ensure great results and deliver sustainable outcomes for the community”, Said Mr. Cunningham.
Mayor Rothwell said we look forward to welcoming Mr. Cunningham to the community on the 13th of July 2022 when he commences in the role.
“I would also like to sincerely thank Ms. Kate O’Neill our Interim CEO for her valuable input, delivering Council’s vision and leading our team during this transition period and while Council went through the formal recruitment process for our ongoing CEO”, said Mayor Rothwell.
