Inman Valley Road Closure

Council has been informed by The Department for Infrastructure and Transport that it is upgrading the culvert on Inman Valley Road, adjacent to the junction with Hurrel Road, west of Inman Valley. This work is funded by the South Australian Government as part of the Bridge Stimulus Package.

Works are scheduled to commence from mid October 2022, with project completion expected in mid 2023, weather permitting. Typically, the work will be undertaken between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Fridays, weather permitting. Some weekend work may also be required.

Works for the project will include service relocations, vegetation management and removal, replacement of the existing culvert and installation of new safety barriers.

To accommodate these works, a temporary road closure will be in place on Inman Valley Road, from Monday, 24 October 2022, for approximately six weeks, weather permitting. During this time a temporary detour will be in place. Local access will be maintained at all times.

Following the six week detour period, the road will reopen with traffic reduced to a single lane. Temporary traffic signals will be in place to control the direction of traffic. Speed restrictions will also be in place throughout the work area.

Road users are asked to please plan ahead, expect delays, allow extra travel time and take extra care when workers are on site. Observe speed limits, lane restrictions and traffic controllers when travelling through the area.

To keep up to date as these works progress, the community is encouraged to register for email updates. Please visit the project website www.dit.sa.gov.au/SARegionalBridges to register.
