Mayor's Short Story Challenge 2018

Mayors Short Story LogoThe Mayors’ Short Story Challenge is a wonderful collaboration between the District Council of Yankalilla, City of Victor Harbor and Alexandrina Councils, celebrating ‘creative’ writing.   

The “Challenge” is held during term two each year for school aged children, from reception to year 10.  Each year the Mayors’ Short Story gets bigger & better with both councils receiving a record number of entries.

Entires open at the start of Term 2, each year, for all schools in the Council these areas.

The 2018 competition begins on Monday 30 April 2018, with schools being emailed prior to the end of Term 1.

Competition Closes on Friday 6 July 2018.

Calling for Judges' Expression of Interest

Working with the Mayor Glen Rowlands, two community members are sought to assist with the judging of the Mayors’ Short Story Challenge. If you are interested and experienced in creative writing, reading and literacy, have access to an email account and have time during July and August – your Library needs you!

Judges will be required to attend one day of judging at the Yankalilla Library on Thursday 16 August 2018.

Expressions of Interest are open from 7 May to 30 May.
